The actual days of bikeweek are going by so quickly now! It seems like an unending pattern of waking up, setting up, taking pictures, preparing the show, completing the show and tearing down. This year, I have really enjoyed being with everyone after the workday at dinner. It has been a lot of fun getting to know people better and then working with them the next day.
The weather has been pretty good. Clouds come in every day jest when it looks like we should close down they pass us by and we are fine. Yesterday, however, we had a tornado watch. We were just in time to finish the kids show and we tore down, also rolling up the bounce houses just in case. It got real sunny just after we finished all that. I was tempted to say that it was all for nothing, but the tornado watch continued on into the evening.
I got to go to Mount Rushmore a couple days ago, which is always a fun experience. I love taking pictures up there, especially at night. We also went to the Crazy Horse monument, but it just isn't as impressive to me as Rushmore. We went to Dairy Queen on the way back.
In all, I am having a good time serving here at Sturgis. The event ends (for us at least) on Friday, so it is already almost over! But I have had a good time and look forward to what is left.
